Since May 2007, on the first and third Tuesday of every month, Peter has run and hosted Cheltenham's premier jazz club - 'The Venue Jazz Club'. Situated at the side of The Wheatsheaf on the Old Bath Road, the ethos of the club is to provide an intimate evening where the county's most talented jazz musicians perform to an attentive and interested audience. Dom Franks' Strayhorn
Postbop saxophonist Dom Franks leads his new high-octane swing to funk quintet, paying tribute to Dom's favorite horn players -Sonny Rollins, Kenny Garrett and Art Pepper among them. The group features local keyboard hero Alex Steele, young JazzFM award winning guitarist Lee Jones, bassist Wayne Elliot plus special guests.

J C Big Band
Named after their founder John Chamberlain (who sadly died in 2006), the J.C. Big Band under the musical direction of Tony Sheppard and containing some of Gloucestershire’s premier musicians perform from an extensive repertoire going right back to the time of Buddy Rich and Maynard Ferguson up to present day. A great night for big band connoisseurs!
