I formed both my jazz trio and swing band purely to give me the opportunity to play the type of jazz and swing that I love. Standards that were made famous by Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughan et al, written by those supreme composers and lyricists such as Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart.
It is always a delight for me to be asked to play at a wedding, anniversary, corporate function, birthday party or any other special occasion with either of these combos and I would be delighted to play at yours.
Typically my jazz trio consists of myself on piano and vocals with guitar and saxophone but it can also feature drums or bass. The swing band is a five, six or seven piece option. I have even been booked with just a saxophonist or just a guitarist - so don't be put off if you really have a minimal amount of space.
